A Journey of Hope
“Three great cultures,
Scotland, Ireland, America.
Forged together
In the fire of History”
On Eagle’s Wing presents the story of a people who, in the face of enormous adversity, resolutely refused to let their faith be crushed or their spirit broken. It is a story of courage and humanity set against a backdrop of momentous historical events. Of people who had the strength to face up to the harsh realities of exile and emigration, the courage to leave loved ones behind and reach forward into the unknown.
The action of the play takes place over a span of more than 300 years. From modern day America we step back into 17th century Scotland and Ireland and from there to 18th and 19th century America.
This could be the story of countless millions of people from all over the world, whose great untold journeys of hope brought them to the shores of the Americas and whose sheer will and determination to forge a better life for themselves and their descendants helped shape the country we know today as the United States of America.
